LDAP Authentication In Linux
This is mainly for my own reading and interests. Creating a post here is a good place to keep a hold of the link. By all means check it out if you want, and if you have ideas on how OpenLDAP can plug into Python products and Zope let me know. How-To here.
Intel Core 2 Duo Vs. AMD AM2
Review here. Be warned, the review is packed with lots of good ol' techie language.

Stumptown Coffee = Liquid Gold
Coffee Review gives Stumptown Coffee's Panama Esmerald Especial a rating of 91.
YUM! Check out Stumptown's site and let me know if you desire some beans.
Blind Assessment: Cherry notes dominate in the very sweet-toned, pungently acidy aroma. Relatively light-bodied in the cup, but sweetly and buoyantly acidy, with striking and complex aromatic notes: cherry, tea rose, Meyer Lemon, orange, honey. Honey in particular persists in the rich, sweet, though slightly astringent finish.

Christmas in August
The season starts earlier and earlier each year. It's only a matter of weeks or days before we can start seeing our local Macy's advertising for Christmas.
'Wow honey, that was an awesome summer barbeque! How about we walk it off at the mall and do some Christmas shopping.'

Earthquake in Battleground
Jeanne and I felt this one pretty good! It happened right about 1:39pm PT and we felt it right at 1:40. It was of a 3.8 magnitude! Pretty cool...

"Microsoft tags IE 7 'high priority' update"
"Microsoft plans to automatically push Internet Explorer 7 to Windows XP users when the browser update is ready later this year." My prediction? IE7 = bugs, bugs, bugs, bugs....
If you haven't done so yet now is the time to move to a 'reliable, secure' browser. Firefox is here. Mozilla is here. Opera is here.
So what is your favorite browser?

AMD64 + Debian = Dream Machine
Yes! Well Jeanne. It looks like we're gonna have to get a laptop for you before December. I can feel my desktop crying out for this new release from Debian!
Back from Bend, back to blogging
Ah, refreshed. Jeanne and I had a fantastic time in Bend this past weekend. Though it was hot and at times humid, the fellowship and breathtaking scenic views far outweighed being physically uncomfortable. The Lord is awesome! Here are but a few pics that we took from our stay with Tab, Marshall, and Caedmon.

Jeanne and I in a park just outside downtown Bend. My beautiful Jeanne. How blessed am I!

Bend
Jeanne and I are off to Bend for the weekend. We are looking foward to some good fellowship, successful fishing trips, and some spirited games of cards. The Lord is awesome! Praise Him for the freedoms we have. Pray for our Nation, and it's support of Israel.

Ohloh
Site helps developers navigate open-source jungle. I briefly checked out the SITE, and it has an impressive directory of some 3600+ OSS projects. I could probably spend all day on there =). Give it a look see.

AMD responds to Intel
AMD really will drop Athlon 64 prices to compete with Intel Core 2 Duo.
Thanks Rob for pointing me to the article...
"The equation is," Muzny stated, "what is it you're getting for your dollar? We've established a leadership position, and we're just not willing to let that go."

Zidane = Verb
I was having a quick chat with a few co-workers a little while ago. One jokingly admitted that during a mildly frustrating customer conference call he wanted to 'Zidane them'. It sure didn't take long to make the Zidane headbutt a verbism.
